Throughout their professions, Alex Bovee and Paul Querna recognized that while the use of SaaS apps and cloud infrastructure was blowing up, the process to give employees consent to use them was not keeping up.
The pair led Zero Trust methods and items at Okta, and could see the problem firsthand. Companies of all sizes frequently have hundreds of apps and infrastructure providers they’re handling. “But that access is never withdrawed, even if it’s unused,” Bovee said. “Without a central layer to automate and manage permission, it’s impossible to handle all the authorizations, entitlements, and on- and off-boarding, not to discuss auditing and analytics.”

Bovee and Querna have deep competence in the area. Prior to Okta, Bovee led business mobile security item development at Lookout.
