Edge computing startup Macrometa gets $20M Series A led by Pelion Endeavor Partners

Macrometa, the edge computing cloud and worldwide data network for app developers, announced today it has raised a $20 million Series A. The round was led by Pelion Venture Partners, with participation from returning financiers DNX Ventures (the Japan and US-focused business fund that led Macrometa’s seed round), Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), Partech Partners, Fusion […] As part of the brand-new round, Macrometa broadened its board of directors, including Pelion general partner Chris Cooper as a director, and Pelion senior associate Zain Rizavi and DNX Ventures primary Eva Nahari as board observers. Macrometa’s international information network integrates an internationally distributed noSQL database and a low-latency stream data processing engine, allowing web and cloud establishes to run and scale data-heavy, real-time cloud applications. The COVID-19 pandemic sped up Macrometa’s company significantly, stated Venkatesh, since its business and web scale consumers required to handle the unforeseeable data traffic patterns created by remote work.
