ShoppingGives, a Chicago-based startup pitching sellers a service that can integrate not-for-profit donations into their sales and shopping platforms, has raised a concealed amount from Serena Williams’ venture capital company, Serena Ventures, the company stated.
ShoppingGives enables retailers to use a donation on behalf of a shopper to any of over 1.5 million nonprofits that are on its list– all without leaving the retailer’s website.
The business stated that sellers can utilize the donation data to produce a more individualized and authentic engagement with consumers based on the causes they support.
“ShoppingGives lined up with my worths of purchasing entrepreneurs and organizations who are making a distinction. By developing opportunities to grow social impact with a smooth approach for brand names and sellers, ShoppingGives is charting the course for all companies to stand forth as agents of change in our society,” stated Williams in a statement.
The business’s innovation assists merchants handle and report donations and is already advised by Shopify as one of a collection of apps for merchants setting up their online stores. Its service integrates with e-commerce material management systems and is currently a partner for the PayPal offering fund.
ShoppingGives has already contributed to more than 6,000 not-for-profit companies picked by clients, according to the company. Brand names like Kenneth Cole, Natori, White + Warren, Margaux, Solstice Shades, Tomboyx, Fresh Clean Tees, Blind Barber, Huron and Area Item utilize the service already.
