. The Miami-based business (with areas in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon, Madrid, Mexico City, Miami, Paris and São Paulo) said it will utilize the cash to build out more virtual offerings to complement the business’s schools.
Over the next five years, 13 million jobs will be added to the tech market in the U.S., according to Ironhack co-founder Ariel Quiñones. That remains in addition to another 20 million jobs that Quiñones expects to come from the growth of the innovation sector in the EU.
Ironhack isn’t the only bootcamp to take advantage of this growth. In 2015, Lambda School raised $74 million for its coding education program.
Ironhack raised its newest round from Venture Driver, a fund that purchases business owners from emerging and underserved markets; Lumos Capital, which was formed by investors with a long history in education innovation; Creas Capital, a Spanish effect investment company; and Brighteye, a European edtech investor.
Prices for the company’s classes vary by country. In the U.S. an Ironhack bootcamp costs $12,000, while that figure is more like $3,000 for classes in Mexico City.
The business offers classes in subjects ranging from web advancement to UX/UI style, and data analytics to cybersecurity, according to a statement.
“Our company believe that useful skills training, a helpful worldwide neighborhood and profession advancement programs can give everybody, regardless of their education or work history, the capability to compose their stories through innovation,” stated Quiñones.
Because its launch in 2013, the company has finished more than 8,000 trainees, with a task placement rate of 89%, according to data gathered as of July 2020. Business who have employed Ironhack graduates consist of Capgemini, Siemens and Santander, the company stated.
