Orbiit, a startup that automates the interactions within an online neighborhood, has raised a $2.7 million round led by Support Ventures, with involvement from new investors High Alpha Capital, LAUNCHub Ventures and Company Ventures. Existing financiers Founders Fund, which led Orbiit’s $1 million pre-seed round, Acceleprise and other angels also participated. The capital will be used to construct out the Orbiit item and engineering team.
Orbiit says its platform manages the communications, matching, scheduling, feedback collection and analytics for individuals getting in touch with each other in an online neighborhood. The concept is that the communities therefore discover and network much better, engage more and share more knowledge.
CEO and co-founder Bilyana Freye stated: “Tailored 1:1 connections allow members to discuss difficult topics, be vulnerable and share knowings with one another. Those 1:1 connections are the hardest to execute, however when you start investing in them, with the help of Orbiit, you see engagement feeding into all other efforts and a vibrant, active neighborhood that truly provides on the pledge to its members.”
Support Ventures Managing Partner Mary Grove included: “This olden question of how to take advantage of technology at scale to drive meaningful connections across neighborhoods both internal to a company and around the world is an issue we’ve been actively seeking a solution to for a decade. Orbiit brings the ideal mix of tech-enabled software application with human curation to create strong connections and supply insights back to neighborhood supervisors.”
The platform is being used by start-up communities at True Ventures, GGV and Lerer Hippeau; personal networking groups such as Dreamers & & Doers; and customer neighborhoods, like the CFO community run by fintech leader Spendesk.
Creators Fund Principal Delian Asparouhov stated: “We see Orbiit as a key platform for peer discovering within business and communities, unlocking untapped understanding through curated matchmaking.”
LAUNCHub Ventures took part in the round, following the current very first close of its new $70 million fund.
